Lacy Lewis

Working mainly in oil, Lacey Lewis is an award winning contemporary realist figurative artist who paints in a classical style. Whether or not one is versed in the elusive language of visual design, Lacey’s paintings communicate to the viewer as she purposefully chooses recognizable aspects of reality to recreate on the canvas. It is vital to Lacey that her art at a minimum expresses the beauty that she observes in her subject,

“ I was born in Syracuse, NY, attended Onondaga Community College, and moved to Kansas City in my early 20s. This is where I developed my skills and voice as an artist while also taking workshops and classes at The Art Student’s League of NY and Studio Incamminati, with artists including Steven Assael, Max Ginsburg, Robert Liberace, and Daniel Sprick. In 2009 I opened my first independent studio in Downtown KCK, moved it to the West Bottoms a year later, and finally in 2019 moved to my current location in Overland Park, KS as Lacey Lewis School of Realist Art. Here I teach private lessons, classes, and workshops. Online classes are also offered. Check out my teaching studio at SchoolofRealistArt.com . I also regularly teach at InterUrban ArtHouse and occasionally at the Kansas City Art Institute in the Illustration Department ”.
