Diane Salamon
Diane was born in Mankato, Minnesota, and credits living in many areas of the United States during her formative years with exposing her to a variety of cultures, ideas and interesting people. As a young adult, Diane and her husband settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised their family.
Though Diane holds a degree in finance, art has always been of first importance to her. Diane took art instruction through Philbrook Museum, the University of Tulsa, Tulsa Community College, and Oklahoma Art Workshops, and she has spent time in Santa Fe, Oklahoma City and Taos, taking extended classes with artists she admires. Diane credits Matisse, Jasper Johns, and Virginia Cobb with influencing her painting and thinking and feels that all of her paintings are autobiographical. Her most recent work represents both the chaos and fast pace of our modern world and resting places where we can feel centered and give ourselves the necessary time to regenerate. Diane wants her paintings to give the viewer an area of calm that is beautiful and centered that will comfort them along their life path.
